Our marriage was only a month old when my first B'day(as a wife) came along. My husband kept asking me what do I want as a gift?.since we got married a month ago I got so many dresses and new jewels so I said I don't want anything.I also added that I don't want to make it a habit (giving gifts). Also gave a big lecture about how family members don't give gifts to each other (really?) and I wanted to stay that way.He said OK.
Along the way I kept bragging about my favorite color and how I wanted to have a dress on that color.I was dropping hints by showing that particular color in the newspaper ads and on TV. But I also said to him that don't get the wrong idea of buying me the dress on my B'day.
On that day we went to bed as usual and I pretended like sleeping and hoping that he would wake me up at 12 o clock midnight.Of course he did with a gift in his hand.I was floating in the air with all the excitement in the whole wide world. By the size of the gift wrapper I figured out that it was not a dress.
Thought might be the jewelry, started asking him why would he bought me the expensive jewelry. He calmly said,"open it" with the greatest smile on his face. By opening it I got so disappointed(hit the rock bottom). Here I have to remind you about my husband's new found interest "photography"(bought a new SLR).
There it was...lying in my hands, the well framed picture of me taken at the time of our honeymoon by my husband. He looked quite happy(confident) about the present.I asked him, "what kind of present is this"? He replied as the most "perfect" one. He continued by saying that how I looked so beautiful in that picture and no one ever captured me this pretty. yeah...yeah you guessed it right. My madness had flew away and I was blushing and looked at him with my reddish cheeks.
I realized something on that day which made me really happy and little proud. He is not only fascinated by the photography but also by me too!!! I couldn't believe that eight years have already gone by....because our fascination for each other is still the same.... so fresh like a month old!!!
Hahaha..Sweet one :) usually, such gifts are given by the girls to guys. Nice to be on the receiving end.
